The Teacher

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
'The Teacher', written by Freida McFadden and published in 2024, is a psychological thriller that feels like a horror movie and will have you not just dreading school, but fearing it as well. The story follows high school math teacher Eve, who has a secret obsession with expensive shoes, and her English teacher husband Nate. Everything seems fine until Eve learns that a troubled student, Addie, is in both her junior math class and Nates junior English class. Past rumours about the last male teacher Addie had causes Eve to worry about Nate, but there's more than one secret at this school... who will kill to keep there's safe?
HOLY MOLY!! This was my first Freida McFadden book that I read and I've read almost all of hers since then, that should tell you how good this book is. Her use of a suspenseful prologue, is especially catching. These style of prologue is a common element of all her books, but in 'The Teacher' it feels different, I might be biased because it was my first psych thriller. But the prologue pulls you in, in such a way that you can't escape, with many different techiniques. But one of Freida McFadden's favourite techniques is the unknown POV, she doesn't label or specify who's POV we're veiwing the prologue from which keeps us guessing and suspenseful of everything. But when the chapter finally occurs in the book, is never who you suspected. This books details certain triggering ideas, but Frieda McFadden is relatively tasteful in her descriptions but it is a book written for adults so be advised. This book is great for anyone who loves to look over their shoulder and HATED school. Good luck, hope you figure it out before I did (I had to reread it) :)

I actually loved this one, HOLY GUACAMOLE the TWISTS OMG, absolutely insane but absolutely loved it
This looks like an interesting read, the teacher lowkey sounds not nice in any way.
I HATEEEEEE the concept of horror simply because I'm a scaredy cat😞, but this review honestly makes the concept seem like a very interesting and intense read without spoiling the plot. I also love the POV technique she adds in the book, it makes it sound like I'm 'da real secret keeper'. This might just be the first horror book on my list🥳, thank you for your review
!!!.
I LOVE a psychological thriller and this book was a whole on roller-coaster. Honestly a great, spoiler-free, description for anyone wanting to read it!
The teacher is good psychological thriller that will have you thinking quickly. It effectively has a combination of suspense and unexpected twists to the plot which will have readers divided based on the ending of the plot. It's good for people who likes thoughts provoking thrillers
